According to well-informed sources, a member of the Royal Gendarmerie in Oued-Zem, seriously injured, was evacuated as an emergency last Tuesday, in a critical condition, to the Mohammed V Military Hospital in Rabat.
Meanwhile, the gendarmes had surrounded a gang of cattle thieves, who had taken refuge in a house. Suddenly, a member of this gang came out stealthily and struck the gendarme with an axe, wounding him in the head. Seriously injured, he fell into a deep coma.
The victim was immediately transported to the Hassan II Hospital in Khouribga, but given the severity of his condition, he was transferred to the military hospital in Rabat.
Furthermore, two members of the gang have been arrested and the investigation is still ongoing while waiting to bring them to justice.
