Medical campaign for inmates

The medical campaign for the inmates of the Zaio agricultural prison mobilized a medical staff composed of 13 doctors, assistants, and administrative staff.

A multidisciplinary medical campaign was organized on Monday for the benefit of the inmates of the Zaio agricultural prison (Nador province), aiming to bring health services closer to the prison population.

Initiated by the General Mutual of Public Administration Personnel (MGPAP) and the Zaio agricultural prison, and with the support of the city's Municipal Council, this medical campaign mobilized a medical staff composed of 13 doctors, assistants, and administrative staff.

On this occasion, the director of the Zaio agricultural prison, Abdelilah Bakhti, highlighted the efforts made by the General Delegation for Prison Administration to facilitate the social reintegration of inmates, noting that this approach requires the adherence of all parties concerned to achieve the expected objective.

This campaign also offers the opportunity to communicate with the inmates and highlight the contribution of the Zaio prison, with the support of all partners, in spreading the culture accompanying the reformist orientation of the general policy followed by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration in various fields, he added.

For his part, the president of the MGPAP Board of Directors, Abdelmoula Abdelmoumni, recalled the strategy of this organization based on the development of programs allowing members of the General Mutual to access health services in the different regions of the Kingdom, notably through the Mobile Medical Unit.

After praising the initiative undertaken by the Zaio agricultural prison, Abdelmoula Abdelmoumni indicated that the MGPAP works within a framework of solidarity for the implementation of medical programs in partnership with local authorities that allow citizens, particularly disadvantaged social categories, to access health services.

This medical campaign, which provided the inmates of the Zaio agricultural prison with medical services in various specialties such as cardiovascular diseases, otolaryngology (ENT), neurology, dermatology, and radiology, was also an opportunity to raise awareness among prisoners about sexually transmitted diseases and others such as diabetes.
