Missour pays a vibrant tribute to Ittihadi militants

Missour pays tribute to Mohamed Elyazghi, Abdelouahed Radi, Mohamed Ait Kaddour, Saloua Karkri, Kacem Saddik, and Mohamed Doukha.

This tribute ceremony, which was able to bring together many militants of different generations, who came from all regions of the country, was an opportunity to testify all the gratitude to these militants who have made great sacrifices, given without counting to Morocco and the USFP, defended body and soul the values of human rights, freedom, democracy, and this for a better Morocco. This is what Rachid Hamouni, parliamentarian and coordinator of the preparatory committee for this event, announced at the recognition ceremony that took place on Saturday at the Cultural Complex of Missour.

During this grandiose moment and on behalf of the Political Bureau, Kamal Daissaoui wanted to emphasise that this ceremony has a symbolic scope because it pays tribute to great figures of the USFP on the one hand, and is linked to the collective memory of the city of Missour where many Ittihadi leaders were imprisoned following the party's position concerning the question of our territorial integrity, on the other hand.

In this context, while indicating that the question of our national cause is at a decisive turning point that requires the combination of everyone's efforts, Kamal Daissaoui wanted to recall the positive role played by the party and its active diplomacy in this sense.

At the end of his speech, Daissaoui described this tribute as a historical moment and a recognition of the honoured personalities who remain a model and a symbol of patriotism for the USFP and a school that taught us the values of loyalty.

For his part, Ahmed Zaidi, head of the Socialist Group in the House of Representatives, took this opportunity to salute Mohamed Elyazghi "the great militant, the teacher, the educator, and the faithful friend".

While remembering historical moments when despotism was in full swing, he made it known that "the memory of peoples is not short even if others tend to forget" by recalling on the occasion the imprisonment of some party leaders in Missour.

"Missour celebrated these great Ittihadi leaders and Mohamed Elyazghi honoured us with his presence among us", he announced not without emotion. Likewise, he wanted to recall the qualities of the great militant Mohamed Ait Kaddour and the nobility and sincerity of Kacem Saddik, one of the symbols of the region.

Speaking of Abdelouahed Radi who could not be present, Ahmed Zaidi, while recalling his intellectual, political, and literary contributions and his dedication, did not hide his admiration for this man who made enormous sacrifices for the nobility of the national and democratic project and for the USFP.

A vibrant tribute was also paid to the sincere and creative Saloua Karkri, who contributed greatly to the evolution of parliamentary action within the Socialist Group, to Mohamed Doukha described by Ahmed Zaidi as "the man who has always loved working in the shadows, the man of trust who served the country and the party with self-denial" as well as to Lahmar Bouarfa.

In his speech, Mohamed Elyazghi evoked the process of democratic struggle and the role of the USFP since its creation to preserve the identity of the Nation, build democracy, face despotism, and allow Moroccans to enjoy their legitimate rights including dignity, freedom, social justice, among others. A struggle that was paid dearly by militants sentenced to prison, capital punishment, exile, among other forms of torture, which the regime never managed to annihilate.

While indicating that the PJD does not have a clear vision for the future, Mohamed Elyazghi called for the good management of the opposition given that "the USFP is the safety valve". The Ittihadis are called to orient themselves towards the essential questions concerning society and the Nation and to debate them in the societal fabric crossed by obscurantist thought and to mobilise all the potential that society abounds with around the socialist and democratic project, he concluded.
