The 10th edition was very successful on all levels. The number of visitors should reach approximately 817,000 at the closing of the Exhibition, against 850,000 during the 9th edition.
The commissioner of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM), Jaouad Chami, described, Sunday in Meknes, as "very successful on all levels" the 10th edition of this annual meeting, which saw a large influx of visitors, for only five days, whose number should reach no less than 817,000.
"This edition was very successful on all levels. The number of visitors should reach approximately 817,000 at the closing of the Exhibition, against 850,000 during the 9th edition which lasted ten days," declared to the MAP, Jaouad Chami shortly before the closing of the doors of the SIAM, organised from 28 April to 03 May under the theme "Agriculture and food systems".
"The day of 1 May saw a most massive influx of the public. We were able to count approximately 200,000 visitors who were able to circulate at the level of the different poles and stands in complete safety and with great fluidity," noted Jaouad Chami, who welcomed the measures taken, this year, by the organisers to allow the Exhibition to contain and manage as well as possible the large flows of visitors.
The "Livestock" and "local products" poles were the most frequented by visitors who came in large numbers to discover products that are part of the Moroccan identity and which make the singularity of Morocco, he observed.
This edition, marked by a very important commercial dynamic at the level of all the poles, saw the signing of approximately 20 conventions, in addition to partnerships sealed between private sector companies, noted the commissioner.
The SIAM has been able, from its first editions, to register itself in the calendar of unmissable meetings of Agriculture, and this both at the national, continental, and international level, rising to the rank of the leading exhibition in Morocco and Africa.
An enthusiasm shared by market actors internationally but also at the national level who are more numerous and participate in making each year a record edition.
A numerical but also and above all qualitative progression underlined by the unique identity of the exhibition and its particular vocation at the crossroads of information, networking, and benchmarking, and which is perfected by a high-level scientific programme.
Latest to date, the 2014 edition thus saw a record influx of more than 850,000 visitors, and saw the participation of more than 55 countries.
More than 1,200 exhibitors also participated in this edition recording a loyalty rate estimated at more than 85%, a loyalty which is explained notably by the very intense commercial dynamic experienced by the machinery, local products, and agro-supply poles.
