The Marrakech du Rire Festival has become over the years a true cultural showcase of a Morocco of tolerance and coexistence, affirms the Franco-Moroccan comedian, actor, and producer, Jamel Debbouze. Through the participation of comedians representing different religions and cultures, and the presence of a cosmopolitan audience, this cultural event conveys messages of tolerance and peace and creates bridges between different cultures, he added on Saturday in Marrakech, during a press briefing with the comedians participating in this cultural event. Jamel Debbouze, initiator of the Festival, stressed that this event has become a cultural event of international stature, noting that it will be broadcast by several national and foreign channels. On the other hand, he highlighted the "formidable" work accomplished by all members of the organising committee, with a rich and eclectic programme, noting that the comedians solicited respond every year to perform on stage in Marrakech. This 3rd edition has "gained in maturity and has been a real success with shows completely sold out," rejoiced Jamel Debbouze. For his part, the artistic director of the Marrakech du Rire Festival, Hassan El Fad, stressed that the halqa as a source of inspiration and ancestral Moroccan heritage, imposed itself from the beginning of the Festival and has become a tradition in this cultural event. The Moroccan-Ivorian comedian, Tahar Lazrak, known by the artistic name Wallace, who performs on stages in West African countries, noted for his part that the Marrakech du Rire Festival is a beautiful story that continues, adding that by participating in this Festival, he is realising his dream. The other participating comedians rejoiced in their participation in the Marrakech du Rire, which experiences a frank success from year to year and is beginning to make its way among international comedy festivals. They also noted that it offers the opportunity for budding comedians to display their talents with a view to embarking on a professional career. The Marrakech du Rire, which will continue until June 9 in the Ochre City, is enhanced by the participation of artists known to the public, including Hassan El Fad, who will present in a special evening on Saturday, June 8, his latest show entitled Ain Sebaâ, a sort of autobiography presented in a comical way, recounting the comedian's childhood memories as well as his adventures in the neighbourhood where he was born. Festival-goers will also be able to appreciate shows that will be presented to them by Moroccan and foreign comedians, such as Haroun, Ekko, Kamar, Malik Bentalha, and Youssef Kssiyer. One of the highlights of this Festival is the presentation on stage of more attractive artistic techniques, among others, mime and puppets, respectively transcribed by Patrice Thibaud and the illustrious Burattini family. As for the closing evening "the Gala", which will take place at the mythical Badii Palace, it will see the participation of big names in international comedy, such as Jamel Debbouze, Franck Dubosc, Anthony Kavanagh, Jonathan, Lambert Audrey, and Lamy Kamel the magician. On the menu for this edition are also original shows with the comedian Eko d'Abderramane Ouaabad with his new show entitled "Ch'tatata", a true journey into the comedian's childhood and adolescence, passing through his schooling. Festival-goers will also be at the rendezvous with a Jamel Comedy Club show, directed by Franck Cimière. This collective show will be carried by Jean-François Cayrey, Malik Bentalha, Redouanne Harjane, D'jal, Noman Hosni, Waly Dia, and Tony Saint Laurent.
