To date, the operation has helped 106 people, especially those classified among the target groups, such as the homeless and those residing in the student house (Dar Talib) in the mountainous areas of the province.
This operation aims to help the target groups by providing in-kind assistance (basic food products, mattresses, blankets, etc.), especially during this period which is characterised by a significant drop in temperatures.
The "Warm Winter" operation was marked by the organisation of five distribution and shelter campaigns, which aim to provide temporary shelter for people living on the street, and it continues in good conditions thanks to the full commitment of the National Mutual Aid services and the local authorities of the Khénifra province.
In this context, the Regional Coordinator of National Mutual Aid in Khénifra, Souad Zahia, stated in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) agency that these campaigns aspire to confront the effects of the cold wave on the most vulnerable population, highlighting that this solidarity initiative clearly reflects the proximity policy pursued by the institution towards the inhabitants of rural and mountainous areas, especially widows, the elderly, and people with special needs.
It is noteworthy that the implementation of the action plan aimed at confronting the effects of the cold wave in Khénifra covers, for the winter of 2024-2025, a total of 49 Douars distributed across 9 rural communes, including a population of approximately 27,697 people.
A total of 7,793 children and 4,318 elderly people were also counted within the framework of this action plan, in addition to 77 pregnant women whose due date coincides with the implementation of the plan.
