Khénifra – The National Mutual Aid services in Khénifra are actively continuing the implementation of the "Warm Winter" operation, a highly humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable categories, especially the homeless.
To date, this operation has helped 106 people, mainly from the target categories, such as the homeless and residents of the Dar Tilmid (student houses) in the mountainous areas of the province.
This operation aims to help the target categories by providing in-kind assistance (basic food products, mattresses, blankets, etc.), especially during this period marked by a significant drop in temperatures.
The "Warm Winter" operation, which was marked by the organisation of 05 distribution and accommodation campaigns, aiming to offer temporary shelter to people living on the street, continues in good conditions, thanks to a significant commitment from the National Mutual Aid services and the local authorities of the province.
In a statement to the MAP, the provincial coordinator of National Mutual Aid in Khénifra, Souad Ezzahia, specified that these campaigns aim to counter the effects of the cold wave on the most vulnerable populations, stressing that this solidarity initiative concretely reflects the proximity policy adopted by the National Mutual Aid which focuses on supporting the population of rural and mountainous areas, in particular widows, the elderly, and those with specific needs.
It should be recalled that the Action Plan to combat the effects of the cold wave in Khénifra covers, for the 2024-2025 winter season, 49 Douars spread over 09 rural communes, with a total population of approximately 27,697 people.
A total of 7,793 children and 4,318 elderly people were counted within the framework of this Plan, as well as 77 pregnant women whose due date coincides with the implementation of the action plan.
