Associations in the city of Khenifra have accused those responsible for local affairs of a lack of transparency and integrity in the distribution of financial grants and the spread of "favoritism and cronyism", criticizing the exclusion of a group of active associations and the preference for others that do not have effective programs.
The associations expressed their dissatisfaction with the way grants are distributed by the municipal council and its president, Mustapha Baya, and the preference for associations loyal to his political party, which receive large financial grants compared to the meager grants allocated to the rest of the active associations in the city, which harms and limits the role of civil society.
