2,238 companies were created by the end of October 2024 in Beni Mellal-Khenifra, according to the OMPIC dashboard which highlights everything related to the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the level of the Kingdom’s regions.
Of the 2,238 companies created, legal entities, still by the end of October 2024, took the lion’s share with 1,244 entities, while those of natural persons were 994.
Still according to the same source, 32,250 companies were created from 2014 to the end of October 2024 in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region; 2,553 companies were created in 2014, 2,492 in 2015, 2,366 in 2016, 2,573 in 2017, 2,900 in 2018, 3,393 in 2019, 3,570 in 2020, 3,801 in 2021, 3,362 in 2022, 3,002 in 2023, and 2,238 by the end of October 2024. It is therefore noted that the number of companies created reached its peak in 2021 with 3,801 companies, while 2024 recorded the lowest number of companies created with only 2,238 companies. Furthermore, from 2014 to 2016, the number of these companies continued to decrease, going from 2,553 companies to 2,492 and to 2,366. But from 2017 to 2021, the number of companies saw an increasing rise, going from 2,573 companies in 2017 to 3,801 in 2021. Let us note a second time that the number of these companies regressed, going from 3,801 in 2021 to 2,238 by the end of October 2024.
Concerning the distribution of companies created by province within the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region, Beni Mellal is at the top of the list with 748 companies, followed by Khouribga with 361, Khenifra in third position with 290, Azilal with 272 companies, then Fkih Ben Salah with 167, Kasbat Tadla with 165, Oued Zem with 96 companies, Souk Sebt Ouled Nema with 85 companies, and Boujaad in last position with 54.
At the level of distribution by sector, commerce maintains its primary role in the economy at the regional level by representing 32.93% of company creation, construction and real estate activities with 20.59%, various services 14.34%, transport 10.84%, industries 7.26%, hotels and restaurants 6.36%, financial activities 4.73%, agriculture and fishing with 2.10%, and finally the ICT sector 0.79%. As for the distribution by legal form: SARL (limited liability company) 48.2%, SARLAU 47.6%, and SA (public limited companies) 4.3%.
Let us recall that at the national level, during the aforementioned period, 78,244 companies were created. The Casablanca-Settat region is in first place with 24,571, Beni Mellal-Khenifra is ranked ninth with 2,238 companies, and in last position is the Guelmim-Oued Noun region with 634 companies. Still on the national level, from 2014 to the end of October 2024, 936,103 companies were born. The number of these companies reached its peak in 2021 with 105,478 companies, while the year 2014 recorded the lowest number with 66,396 companies.
