The Urban Agency holds its Board of Directors

The work of the eighth session of the Board of Directors of the Khemisset Urban Agency was marked by the adoption of the moral and financial reports for the 2015 financial year, as well as by the examination of the 2016 action plan.

The Khemisset Urban Agency held its Board of Directors last Wednesday under the chairmanship of Driss Merroun, Minister of Urban Planning and Land Management. The members of the board looked into the examination and adoption of the minutes of the previous session, as well as the activity report of the Urban Agency for the year 2015 and its action plan for the year 2016.

During the work of this eighth session of the Board of Directors, the Director of the Khemisset Urban Agency, Nahid Hamtamii, presented the moral report which highlighted the activity report for the 2015 financial year, the action plan for the year 2016 and the provisional programme for the three-year period 2016-2018. The director stressed, during her presentation, that the Khemisset Urban Agency will continue its efforts to achieve complete coverage of its territory with urban planning documents by 2018. She also presented the achievements of this establishment in terms of modernisation and improvement of the quality of services rendered in order to best meet the expectations of citizens and partners. In his speech, the Minister of Urban Planning and Land Management recalled that faced with the vital challenge of integrated, sustainable, inclusive and harmonious development of territories, it becomes more than necessary to reposition the Urban Agency as a centre of territorial engineering and a lever for local development.

And this, by innovating in approaches, capitalising on achievements, valuing the expertise and skills developed and systematising the sharing of good practices, while modernising and adapting intervention mechanisms. "This will allow this public establishment to play its true role as a tool for supporting and assisting local authorities to meet the new challenges they will have to face in the context of advanced regionalisation," stressed Driss Merroun. For his part, Mansour Kartah, Governor of the Khemisset province, noted that this session constitutes an opportunity to learn about issues related to urban planning and land management at the level of this region which is living to the rhythm of unprecedented progress. "Issues of urban planning and land management were among the main axes of the region's development plan, by providing it with a number of basic equipment and infrastructure and by setting up urban upgrading and spatial development plans," he affirmed, insisting on the imperative to redouble efforts in order to overcome the various obstacles and raise the standard of living of the local population.

On the sidelines of this session, two partnership agreements were signed. The first links the Khemisset province, the Urban Agency and the provincial council on the one hand, with the communes of Tiflet, Khemisset, Sidi Allal Al Bahraoui, Rommani, Khmis Sidi Yahya, Sidi Boukhalkhal and Aït Ikkou Brachoua. As for the second agreement, it was signed between the Urban Agency, the province and the Khemisset commune. Furthermore, during this session, the members of the Board of Directors approved the moral and financial reports for the 2015 financial year, as well as 10 recommendations proposed by the Urban Agency.
