Ifrane – The Regional Director of the Ministry of Equipment and Water in Ifrane, Abdelilah Azmi, reported that all relevant regional services have been mobilised to restore normal traffic flow on road axes that experienced temporary disruption due to snowfall that occurred on Sunday night and Monday in the province.
Mr. Azmi confirmed, in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), that all regional services were mobilised, under the direct supervision of the Governor of Ifrane province, following moderate snowfall which caused traffic disruption on strategic road axes in the province.
The regional official noted that a temporary interruption of traffic was recorded on National Road No. 13 connecting Azrou, Timahdite, and Ait Oufella, noting that snow removal operations have enabled the opening of the road connecting Azrou and Timahdite, while efforts continue between Timahdite and Ait Oufella.
Mr. Azmi added that National Road No. 8 also experienced a traffic interruption for half an hour between Azrou and Ifrane, explaining that the intervention of snow removal teams using two machines enabled the road to be opened to traffic, particularly at the exit of Ifrane city towards El Hajeb.
The regional official indicated that the Michlifen road is the only one that remains closed to traffic, pending the intervention of snow removal machinery.
