Ifrane Province: Authorities mobilised to open road axes after snowfall

The Provincial Director of the Ministry of Equipment and Water in Ifrane, Abdelilah Azmi, reported that all relevant provincial services have been mobilised to restore normal traffic flow on road axes that experienced temporary disruption due to snowfall that occurred overnight from Sunday to Monday in the province.

He confirmed that all provincial services were mobilised, under the effective supervision of the Governor of the Ifrane province, following moderate snowfall that caused traffic disruption on the province's strategic road axes.

The provincial official indicated that a temporary interruption of traffic was recorded on National Road No. 13 connecting Azrou, Timahdite, and Ait Oufella, noting that snow-clearing operations allowed for the opening of the road between Azrou and Timahdite, while efforts continue between Timahdite and Ait Oufella.

Azmi added that National Road No. 8 also experienced a half-hour traffic interruption between Azrou and Ifrane, explaining that the intervention of snow-clearing teams with two machines allowed for the opening of the road to traffic, particularly the exit from Ifrane towards El Hajeb.

The provincial official indicated that the Michlifen road is the only one still closed to traffic, awaiting the intervention of snow-clearing machines.
