A blood donation campaign took place on Wednesday on the premises of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Guelmim, as part of voluntary initiatives aimed at strengthening the regional stock of this vital material.
This campaign, organised in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Blood and its Derivatives (AMSD) in Guelmim-Oued Noun on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day (June 14), is part of the faculty's opening to its socio-professional environment and the societal dynamic it strives to establish among students.
Placed under the slogan “Every drop makes a difference”, this initiative, which saw the participation of students, administrative staff of the faculty, as well as citizens, aims to mobilise the largest number of donors possible to strengthen the regional stock, particularly in the face of growing demand during this summer period.
It also aims to raise students' awareness of the medical and scientific aspects of blood donation, through direct exchanges with health professionals, as well as sharing information on donation conditions, collection stages, filtration, storage, and distribution of blood to hospitals.
