The "Liligo" ranking, which is based on strict criteria including the quality of infrastructure, cultural richness, cleanliness, accessibility, and the overall experience of visitors, highlights many of the assets that the Jewel of the Atlantic possesses, famous for its Medina listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, its soft sandy beaches, and its unique artistic atmosphere, which entices with its authentic charm.
The "Liligo" site highlighted in its ranking, in particular, the pleasant climate of Essaouira throughout the year, and invites travelers to discover the Medina, which is a real labyrinth of alleys with white walls and filled with typical blue doors.
The site added that "strolling along the ramparts at sunset allows you to enjoy a magnificent view of the ocean and the cliffs, and breathtaking panoramic views", highlighting iconic places such as the fishing port, where you can taste fresh grilled seafood, or the Souk, famous for its artisanal creations, especially items made from Thuya wood, which is a local specialty.
The site, which specializes in the analysis and continuous evaluation of hundreds of sites that offer travel deals and tourist destinations in the world, indicated that the beach of Essaouira is also distinguished by many activities, ranging from camel riding to water sports such as surfing, which is very popular thanks to the constant winds in the region.
With this recognition, Essaouira reinforces its image as an essential destination on the global level, as it offers a perfect harmony between culture, relaxation, and discovery.
It should be noted that the City of the Wind achieved a historic record by receiving more than one million tourists during the year 2024, according to data from the Provincial Tourism Council.
