Chouala organizes open days

Chouala organizes open days

In close collaboration with the provincial committee for human development in Essaouira, and within the framework of activities commemorating the eighth anniversary of the launch of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the Chouala Association for Education and Culture organized open days from May 20 to 22, 2013.

The activity was an opportunity to exhibit the artisanal works of the 164 women beneficiaries of the literacy and women's education program of the socio-educational center whose services benefit 764 beneficiaries. The opening of the center to the general public comes to capitalize on the association's achievements in terms of supervision and strengthening the skills of the 164 women since the start of activities in September 2012 in partnership with the National Mutual Aid delegation in Essaouira. This structure created in the Sqala district combines the proximity approach which fills the deficit in pedagogical and social supervision structures in this area where the population has shown a real enthusiasm for the center's activities divided between literacy courses, women's education, kindergarten, computer science, school support, languages, library as well as transversal cultural and pedagogical activities.

Karima Kraydi, a beneficiary of the literacy program at the Sqala socio-educational center, was able to capitalize on her limited knowledge by developing her talent in literary writing. Her writings, reflecting dreams, ambitions, ideas, and sincere feelings, greatly impressed the visitors who also seized this opportunity to taste pastries produced by the center's beneficiaries. The open days were punctuated by the development of a green space in the Sqala district and the launch of a first aid training program for the 164 women beneficiaries of the literacy program in collaboration with the local branch of the Moroccan Red Crescent.
