Closing of the Forum of Moroccan Competences in Germany: Renewable energies scrutinised

Essaouira has just hosted a forum entitled "Together for the development of the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region" initiated by the German-Moroccan Competence Network with the objective of establishing mechanisms for the transfer of experiences and technological know-how of the Moroccan community in Germany in various fields.

About thirty experts in the environment and renewable energies, medicine, information technology, automotive, social economy, youth, as well as associative work took part in this event organised in collaboration with the Ministry in charge of the Moroccan community residing abroad, the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad, the province of Essaouira, the Regional Council of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, Cadi Ayyad University, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Research and Safeguarding of the Argan Tree, the Essaouira-Mogador Association, the German Agency for International Cooperation, and the CNRST. This Forum, which was notably marked by the organisation of consultative workshops led by working groups, allowed participants to visit several associative and cooperative experiences in the rural world as well as the organisation of meetings and interviews with officials. At the end of its work, the Forum set itself an intervention strategy focused on the optimisation of renewable energies, the accentuation of continuing education programmes, and the strengthening of the skills of the local associative fabric.

The issue of solid waste was also on the agenda, with the objective of capitalising on European experiences in the field.
