The Amicale for economic housing for civil servants in Essaouira organised a march towards the province, which began with a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the real estate operator Al Omrane, which it holds responsible for the problems linked to the economic apartment file (140 thousand dirhams).
According to letters sent jointly to the governor, the delegate of the Ministry of Housing, and the general director of Al Omrane, the Amicale condemns the way the operator acts as well as that of the company in charge of carrying out the project's work following the stoppage of the latter and the exceeding of the set deadlines. To this effect, the letters cite the catastrophic repercussions of this delay on the socio-economic situation of the beneficiaries, a large part of whom are approaching retirement age and will thus be confronted with bank credit problems. Entire families are leading a precarious life in small rooms, others have been put out on the street, and another category whose guardian has already passed away without even acquiring the apartment for which he paid the down payments. An alarming situation that has pushed the civil servants' Amicale to raise its voice against the real estate operator, from whom it demands the completion of the work, the settlement of administrative files, and the delivery of the first tranche as soon as possible.
At the end of this walkout, the governor of Essaouira invited the various stakeholders, including the Amicale, to take part in a meeting scheduled for today to find a solution to these problems that have dragged on for too long.
