Said Ahmim, provincial secretary of the party in Essaouira, and M’Barek Mazouz, assistant treasurer, as well as a citizen, narrowly escaped death on Sunday 1 April 2012 during a car accident that occurred on the road connecting Smimou to Essaouira.

The provincial secretary's car rolled over several times before falling to the foot of a cliff 20m below. The members of the provincial secretariat emerged with a few injuries, while the car was totally crushed.
