Regional Consumer Day in El Jadida

The delegation of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy in Rabat is organising the Regional Consumer Day on 12 March at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Sala El Jadida, under the theme: "Know your rights to better defend them".

This meeting, organised in collaboration with the Regional Associations for Consumer Protection, the National Union of Moroccan Women (UNFM), the Bouregreg and Ribat Al Fath Associations, and the magazines "L'économie et le consommateur" and "Assalam de l'environnement et du consommateur", is part of the efforts undertaken by the Ministry with a view to informing consumers and raising awareness among economic operators, administrators, decision-makers, and citizens, the Ministry indicates in a press release.

The day will be marked by the presentation of a report on Law 31-08, which enacts consumer protection measures and the consumer movement in Morocco, produced by the Ministry in cooperation with the European Union and in collaboration with consumer protection associations, the press release specifies.

During this event, university professors will also present Law 31-08 and its implementing texts relating to the labelling of industrial products, door-to-door selling, sales with premiums, guarantees and after-sales service, and advertising lotteries, the same source highlights.

This event will also include a presentation on the fundamental rules of environmental protection and how to educate the consumer, as well as testimonials on the activities of local consumer protection associations, the UNFM, and the presentation of the consumer portal dedicated by the Ministry, the same source adds.
