It is Thursday, 9 May. In the dock, at the criminal chamber near the Court of Appeal of El Jadida, stands this eighteen-year-old who dreamed of being a great footballer in the ranks of a great team. He was, moreover, a brilliant element within the junior team of Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi (DHJ). Unfortunately, he committed, in July 2012, a crime against an English national, aged sixty-five.
Indeed, our teenager who stands at the bar remembers the whole story, from the beginning of his first meeting with the Englishman, until the "D-Day". He tells it without hesitation to the three magistrates who question him.
Their story begins two years ago, when the teenager was playing football on the beach with his friends. The national who was walking around and enjoying the sun's rays could not help but admire our teenager who was running left and right with the ball and dribbling his colleagues with beautiful technique. When the player finished the match, he approached him to congratulate him and reassure him that he is a good player who could give more if he had the opportunity to go elsewhere, beyond the Mediterranean.
It was precisely the dream that our teenager cherished, who thought that the opportunity had presented itself since the English national offered to help him go to England to join a football team. The teenager, from Douar Chouiref in the Moulay Abdellah commune, accepted, that same day, to have a coffee at the English national's home. Once at his place, the Englishman managed to convince the teenager to share the same bed with him. Since then, they slept together without the English national keeping his word. Finally, the teenager decided to break his relationship with the Englishman who started threatening to publish their photos and videos on YouTube. Fearing that the Englishman would carry out his threats, the teenager made a radical decision: liquidate him.
On "D-Day", the teenager joined the Englishman who was waiting for him at his home. Quickly, he grabbed an iron object and hit him on the head. He then put a pillow on his face until he had breathed his last. And he then took to his heels. A week later, the judicial police managed to identify and apprehend him.
Verdict: 20 years of criminal imprisonment.
