Abdelhadi Khairat and Abdelhamid Jmahri in El Jadida: The situation requires the creation of a modernist and democratic front

To reach this point, for this historic moment that all Moroccans are experiencing, political actors had campaigned for decades and did not sit idly by waiting for democracy and the opening of the path towards the rule of law. But, for all that has been achieved, the militants of the USFP paid dearly, with their lives and their freedom.

This is how Abdelhadi Khairat, member of the Political Bureau, began his speech during the meeting organised last Thursday by the office of the party's section in El Jadida.

The USFP has always campaigned for the Nation, to deepen the democratic choice and has made numerous sacrifices for one single objective, namely the Nation and nothing but the Nation, he wished to specify.

Only the USFP, the national party strongly anchored in Moroccan political life, was capable of standing up, at a time when no one could face the Authority, Abdelhadi Khairat made known.

He continued by saying that the USFP is the extension of national history and the continuation of the popular liberation movement. The party did not fall from the sky; it was born from and for society. He also wished to recall that thanks to the USFP, Morocco was able to experience a political alternation and protect the transition, by behaving as a patriot to overcome the crises that the country was experiencing at that time and secure its future.

Abdelhadi Khairat also mentioned, during this meeting, a certain number of issues including the implementation of the provisions of the new Constitution, the sins of the Benkirane government, the confusion that characterises its action and the reform of the Justice system, among others. For his part, Abdelhamid Jmahri, member of the Political Bureau, seized this opportunity to carry out a check-up of the current political situation and to warn against any attempt aimed at weakening the progressive and left-wing forces, which could lead to unfortunate consequences.

The battle today is being fought over values, the question of universality, the culture of human rights, and the regression that marks fundamentalist thought characterised by the "right-wing shift of ideas", he wished to specify.

In the absence of a deep analysis and given the way the Benkirane government treats and manages certain issues, pessimism is infiltrating and taking hold, he made known. This situation requires, he continues, the creation of a modernist and democratic front that will serve as a safety valve.

While indicating that it is not permitted for Morocco to be overcome by internal tensions, Abdelhamid Jmahri indicated that it is the duty of the USFP to spare no effort to tirelessly defend the stability and security of the country, through the sound and democratic application of the provisions of the Constitution.
