The exhibition, open to the public until 6 April, was presided over by Mouad Jamaïi. Invited to this ceremony were members of the "Association El Jadida Accueil", freshly reconstituted, composed of foreign nationals, notably French, settled in El Jadida.
The interest of this exhibition is "to straighten the columns of a history whose parts tend to decline dangerously," maintains Ahmed Chahid, communications officer for the AFLOF and author of the book "Tourism and Falconry in El Jadida," before an audience of personalities from the region, intellectuals, students and enthusiasts of this royal hunt.
Mr. Chahid recalled during his intervention that "the old falconers, who were only good for occasional guards of honour, have regained confidence in themselves and have become aware of the value of the rich treasures they had protected with great pride," adding also that "the young people of the new generation are increasingly impatient to take the reins of the succession," without forgetting to thank the officials, at the provincial and central levels, who "are working seriously to make falconry a tourist added value."
A vibrant tribute will be paid, in passing, to the chorfas, to Doctor Abdelhadi Tazi who gave the first alerts of a possible disappearance, to Mostapha Lakhiar and Bouchaib Chergui, co-authors of the book "Doukkala: fiefdom of falconry in Morocco," and to Mohamed El Ghazouani, president of the AFLOF.
