Rebbah launches a series of infrastructure projects

The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Aziz Rebbah, launched a series of development projects on Saturday in El Hajeb, as part of the second National Programme for Rural Roads (PNRR2). In the rural commune of Ait Naamane, Mr Rebbah, accompanied by the governor of the El Hajeb province, Abdellatif Bacheikh, and a number of local elected officials, inaugurated a 5.6 km road section connecting Douar Ait Ali and the Attaqadoum cooperative, for an estimated cost of 2.20 million dirhams. Initiated in partnership with the Ministry of Equipment and Transport, the Meknès-Tafilalet regional council, the El Hajeb provincial council and the rural commune in question, this project aims to open up some 3,611 inhabitants and facilitate the population's access to various public services. Mr Rebbah also gave the go-ahead in the Ait Ouikhalfen commune for the development works of the 7011 provincial road connecting the Ait Belahcen and Ain Bouazza communes, which is 9 km long and has mobilised a budget of 5.70 million dirhams. In the rural commune of Ait Iazem in Agouray, Mr Rebbah was informed of the progress of the widening and reinforcement works on national roads 7027 and 7017 connecting Meknès to Adarouch over a length of 30.8 km. Amounting to 32 million dirhams, this project is intended to ensure greater fluidity and road safety, and to highlight local agricultural and tourist assets. The El Hajeb province, which aims to be an agricultural region, could soon establish itself as a tourist region par excellence, Mr Rebbah observed, noting that the development of the potential and assets that the region abounds with is dependent on the establishment of infrastructure, particularly roads that contribute to facilitating access to public services and ensuring the connection between rural and urban communes, whether at the level of El Hajeb or neighbouring provinces. Mr Rebbah reported on a programme for the implementation of several projects at the provincial level, focusing on the maintenance of regional and provincial roads and the development of rural roads with a view to opening up a number of communes, noting that these projects are carried out in partnership with the ministry, elected councils and quarry professionals with a view to saving resources and ensuring the quality of the work.
