This visit allowed diplomats representing Guatemala, Paraguay, Ecuador, Suriname, the Republic of Guyana, and El Salvador to learn about the region’s infrastructure and vast potential.

In a statement to the press, the Minister-Counselor at the Guatemalan Embassy in Turkey, Juan Carlos Orellana Juárez, emphasized that the visit provided an opportunity to gain insight into various social programs, economic development, and major projects in agriculture and infrastructure.

Thanks to its immense potential, the region aspires to further strengthen its trade and economic relations, particularly with African and Latin American countries, including Guatemala, which opened its Consulate General in Dakhla in 2022, the Guatemalan diplomat added.

For her part, Margareth Antonia Meza Sandoval, a representative of El Salvador's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the importance of this visit to Dakhla, which allowed for experience-sharing and an assessment of Morocco’s progress, particularly in the renewable energy sector.

She called for continued joint efforts to further strengthen relations between El Salvador and Morocco.

Meanwhile, the President of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council, El Khattat Yanja, noted that the visit allowed Latin American diplomats to learn about development projects, particularly in the economic, tourism, agriculture, maritime fishing, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors.

This visit was also an opportunity to highlight the new development model for the southern provinces, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2015, he said.

A delegation of Latin American diplomats praised on Tuesday the development momentum in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region at all levels.
