This visit enabled the members of the Paraguayan delegation, which notably included the former Vice President of the Republic of Paraguay, Luis Alberto Castiglioni, and member of the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay, César Diesel Junghans, to observe at close quarters the most prominent aspects of development and prosperity that the region is witnessing at all levels.
In this context, Castiglioni stated to the press following a meeting held at the headquarters of the Regional Investment Centre that "the significant development achieved in Dakhla is impressive, thanks to the insightful vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which has granted Dakhla a distinguished position with great potential."
He added that the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region enjoys a highly favourable investment environment, especially with the launch of major structural projects, foremost among them the Dakhla Atlantic Port, which will make the region a true platform for investments open to all countries of the world.
He highlighted that the Kingdom, and specifically the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, through its strategic location, constitutes the best gateway to African markets for Paraguay, which in turn aspires to be Morocco's gateway to the Latin continent and the countries of the Southern Common Market "Mercosur".
Regarding the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, Castiglioni, who previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Latin American country, affirmed that the Sahara has always been Moroccan land, recalling that his country's parliament, with its two chambers (the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate), had recently expressed unequivocal support for Morocco's territorial integrity and its sovereignty over its Sahara, and urged the Paraguayan government to adopt the same position in all international forums.
For his part, the member of the Paraguayan delegation, journalist Ignacio MartĂnez, author of the book "A Latin American Look at the Moroccan Sahara", considered that the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, thanks to the Royal vision, has managed to achieve many accomplishments by strengthening a developmental dynamic manifested in many fields, as evidenced by the figures and indicators that were reviewed.
On the occasion of this visit, the Paraguayan delegation held talks with the Vice President of the Regional Council, Moulay Boutal El Mbarki, and the delegation members also followed a presentation given by the head of the Economic Stimulation Division at the Regional Investment Centre, Ahmed Kthir, in which he highlighted the various major projects completed and those under construction, which will make Dakhla a pivotal regional platform between Europe, Africa, and America.
