The plane landed at Dakhla Airport, marking the inauguration of its first flight on this new route. On board were several Moroccans living abroad and foreign tourists, thus strengthening air connectivity between Morocco and Spain, as part of a memorandum of understanding signed between the Moroccan National Tourist Office and the airline "Ryanair".
On this occasion, a ceremony was held in the presence of several local officials and stakeholders in the tourism sector.
Thus, "Ryanair" becomes the fourth partner of the Moroccan National Tourist Office to open a direct international service to Dakhla, after Royal Air Maroc, "Binter Canarias", and "Transavia".
The President of the Provincial Tourism Council of Oued Eddahab, Othmane Aâmar, confirmed in a press statement that the launch of this new route will enhance air connectivity to the city of Dakhla, which is experiencing remarkable development in the tourism sector.
For his part, the President of the Regional Tourism Council, Ahmed Abdellaoui, stated that the launch of this air route between Dakhla and Madrid will highlight the tourism potential of the region and attract significant foreign investment.
For their part, many Moroccans residing abroad expressed their happiness at being able to visit Dakhla thanks to the opening of this new air route, highlighting the quality of the reception and the diligent efforts made at Dakhla Airport regarding comfort and fluidity.
In addition to this air route, another flight connecting Dakhla to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands will be launched this month, with two flights per week.
These new air routes will double the airport's current international capacity, bringing the offering to nearly 47,000 seats. They will also make Spain the primary and main market for Dakhla, ahead of France.
It should be noted that air transport, a pillar of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap and its resulting Moroccan National Tourist Office action plan "Light in Action", is being further strengthened to better promote Moroccan tourist destinations.
