The Moroccan authorities have taken a "firm decision" by expelling a Spanish journalist as well as other activists of the same nationality, supporters of the Polisario Front, who had recently entered the city of Dakhla as part of what was presented as a "human rights monitoring mission" in the southern regions of the Kingdom.
This measure came in response to an obvious provocation attempt aimed at disturbing Morocco's sovereignty and raising erroneous allegations regarding human rights, with the goal of manipulating international public opinion.
According to local activists, this action by the Moroccan authorities clearly demonstrates the Kingdom's commitment to defending its national sovereignty and ensuring the security and stability of its regions, particularly in the south of the country, where unprecedented global development is underway.
In this regard, they emphasize that “Dakhla, which has become a model of stability and economic prosperity, symbolizes the success of the Moroccan development model in the Sahara, thus inciting certain foreign actors to attempt to undermine these achievements through disinformation campaigns and unjustified provocations”.
They also insist that this firm decision by Morocco reaffirms that the Kingdom will not tolerate any attempt aimed at destabilizing its internal situation or calling its sovereignty into question. Morocco will continue its development trajectory, making the southern regions an example of leadership and stability, far from malicious accusations and external agendas.
