Landings of coastal and artisanal fishing products at the port of Dakhla recorded a 7% increase in 2024.
They thus exceeded 164,500 tonnes, according to data from the National Office of Fisheries. This increase was accompanied by a notable 19% rise in market value, which now stands at 1.14 billion dirhams.
Evolution by species category
Pelagic fish marked strong growth, with a 36% increase in landed quantities.
These reached nearly 124,500 tonnes for a value estimated at nearly 750 million dirhams. Conversely, white fish recorded a slight decrease of 4%, totaling nearly 40,000 tonnes for a value of nearly 360 million dirhams.
