Thus, the various regional security units and elements in Dakhla have taken a set of preventive and proactive measures to ensure better security for the New Year celebrations, and to ensure the maintenance of the security and safety of citizens and visitors to the city and the protection of their property, during this exceptional circumstance.
This security system, which falls within the framework of a proactive security strategy, is based on mobilising all regional security elements and deploying them at the level of all neighbourhoods and road axes, to ensure the fluidity of traffic.
The head of regional security in Dakhla, Said Berhou, highlighted in a statement to the press that "within the framework of securing the New Year celebrations, the security services in Dakhla have mobilised, as usual, all their human and material resources in order to accompany these celebrations with effective security."
Mr. Berhou added "this year, security measures have been taken over more than two weeks so that the New Year celebrations take place in good conditions," noting that directives have been issued to all regional security services in Dakhla to apply the strategy adopted by the General Directorate of National Security with full respect for human rights.
He added that monitoring has been strengthened at the level of fixed and mobile barriers, and all security elements have been mobilised within the framework of mobile and pedestrian patrols in various neighbourhoods and streets of the city, adding that instructions have been given to all elements to apply the law with all firmness and strictness.
