Yolanda Aldon designated honorary citizen

The Spanish writer and journalist, Yolanda Aldon, will be a member of the jury for the 2nd edition of the Chefchaouen International Film Festival, which will take place from 4 to 7 July. Recently designated "honorary citizen" of the city of Chefchaouen, Yolanda Aldon will be a member of the jury alongside filmmakers such as Oliver Laxe, who won the Fipresci Prize of the international critics at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival 2010 for his film "Todos Vos Sodes Capitans", and other Moroccan directors. Organised by the Urban Commune of the city, this Festival will be marked by the screening of several films and the holding of several activities. Yolanda Aldon, called the "poetess of the two shores", and who has published two works in one year, the latest of which is "Palabras quebradizas" (Kalimat hacha), published in Spanish and Arabic, had participated in the international conference held from 17 to 19 April in Tetouan on "the media image of Morocco in Spain", in which journalists and academics from both neighbouring countries took part. A collaborator with the Cervantes Institute of the north in Morocco, the journalist had been designated responsible for Spain and Morocco for the International Committee for the support of the Syrian people's candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize.
