Boujdour Port: 5% increase in fishing landings
Coastal and artisanal fishing landings at the port of Boujdour reached 69,434 tonnes (T) by the end of November 2024, an increase of 5% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the National Office of Fisheries (ONP).

The market value of these catches also increased by 17% to more than 589.06 million dirhams (MDH), compared to more than 504.90 MDH at the end of November 2023, the ONP specified in its latest report on coastal and artisanal fishing statistics in Morocco.
 
By species, the quantities of pelagic fish landed at this port remained stable during the first eleven months of 2024, for a value estimated at more than 215.42 MDH (+23%), compared to more than 175.33 MDH/ 58,540 T year-on-year.

White fish landings, meanwhile, increased by 44% to 7,139 T, for a value of more than 134.82 MDH, compared to 104.31 MDH/4,968 T year-on-year.
Regarding cephalopod landings, they recorded an increase of 29% to 3,799 T for revenues of more than 238.80 MDH (+6%).

At the national level, marketed coastal and artisanal fishing products recorded, in value, an increase of 6% to nearly 10 billion dirhams (MMDH) during the first eleven months of 2024. The weight of these products stood at 1,233,568 T, down 1% compared to the end of November 2023.
