Project management: Associations in Beni Mellal-Khenifra train in best practices
Civil society. The capacities of associations in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region in terms of project management are being strengthened. In Afourer, a training session brought together associative actors around techniques for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating projects, as part of the national programme for strengthening civil society capacities. Afourer, falling under the province of Azilal, hosted the work of the fourth training session devoted to "techniques for developing, monitoring implementation, and evaluating projects." This session is part of the implementation of the activities of the national programme for strengthening managerial and institutional capacities for the benefit of civil society associations in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region. It was organised by the Al Intilaka Association, in partnership with the parties and institutions concerned by the programme, with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation Morocco. The occasion was to strengthen the management capacities and institutional skills of associative actors, by providing them with the tools and methods necessary for the development of feasible development projects, as well as for monitoring their implementation and evaluating their results. The first sessions focused on a general introduction to the methodology for developing development projects and their various stages, as well as on the importance of integrating the participatory approach and the gender approach into integrated development projects. The project planning methodology also constituted a central axis of the training programme. The participants were thus familiarised with the main methods of planning development projects, allowing them to move from the identification of ideas and needs to the design of structured projects, with clearly defined objectives and results that can be subject to regular monitoring. During the second day, the work focused on the various stages of planning development projects. The participants also worked on the development of the project document, in order to develop more precise, structured, and coherent designs for their associative projects and programmes. Significant importance was also given to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, considered as decisive steps to ensure effective project realisation and to measure the degree of achievement of the expected objectives and results. The session ended on Sunday with a presentation of the monitoring and evaluation system applied to associative projects. A practical session was notably devoted to the design of a simplified and unified model of a monitoring and evaluation plan, as well as its use to measure the impact of projects. The participants also developed a first version of the final report relating to a practical project, before proceeding to a global evaluation of the workshop's work and the closing of the programme. This training session constituted a privileged opportunity for the exchange of experiences and best practices between participants, while strengthening their practical knowledge in the field of associative project management, particularly in terms of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement. This initiative is part of the efforts aimed at consolidating the role of civil society in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region and strengthening the capacities of associations to design and implement projects that meet local needs. It is based on participatory approaches and a structured methodology, capable of guaranteeing the effectiveness of interventions and the sustainability of their results.
