Closing of the Sidi Bouabid Charki Moussem

Closing of the Sidi Bouabid Charki Moussem

Bejaâd, one of the main urban centres of the Khouribga province, capital of Charkaoua, celebrated, for five days, its great Moussem of Sidi Bouabid Charki. Through this event organised on the theme "Moussem of the Saint Sidi Bouabid Cherki: space of religious, spiritual and cultural influence, pillar of intangible capital", the city of Bejaâd or rather the whole province highlighted the religious and spiritual components of the Zaouia Charkaouia. The moussem was also an opportunity to promote the tourist potential of the region and to create an economic and commercial dynamic.

The large square of the city hosted, during the duration of the moussem, an important exhibition relating the role that the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) plays for the benefit of associations participating in the socio-economic development of the province.

The Bejaâd moussem, which welcomes thousands of visitors and hundreds of riders each year, was initiated since the 15th century by the Saint Sidi Bouabid Cherki, founder of the Zaouia Charkaouia. It offers a space for religious, cultural and scientific influence and contributes to the promotion of Moroccan values of sharing, tolerance and openness. Finally, the moussem represents an opportunity to valorise Moroccan culture and strengthen Morocco's positioning as a cultural destination.
