The Green Hands Movement Association (AMOMAV) of Al Hoceima is organising, from 10 to 12 April, the fourth edition of the Pea Festival under the banner "Agri-food, state of play and perspectives". This annual agricultural event aims to promote the cultivation of peas in the region, raise farmers' awareness of the interest in adding value to this product, and organise training sessions on ways to market this product professionally and on a large scale. The festival also aims to make known the investment opportunities in the agricultural field in the region and to make known other products, including prickly pears, carob, olives and their derivatives, as well as honey. In Morocco, peas are found in various agricultural holdings and different regions (Abda, Chaouia, Berkane, and Saïss).
Early crop cultivation has great success on the domestic and foreign market. It is a good diversification crop that does not require high costs. On the programme for this edition, there are notably conferences on "Agri-food, state of play and perspectives" and "Social and solidarity economy", a collective pea harvesting operation (twiza), an exhibition of local agricultural, artisanal, and pastry products, and the presentation of traditional dishes based on local products.
