His Majesty King Mohammed VI has given his High Instructions to find immediate solutions to the problems of the beneficiaries of a housing estate in Al Hoceima, built by the Compagnie Générale Immobilière (CGI), a subsidiary of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG). A joint statement from the Ministries of the Interior and Economy and Finance specified on Saturday that these instructions come following the grievances presented to the Sovereign by a number of citizens, mostly Moroccans living abroad, who declared themselves aggrieved after purchasing the housing. In this context, H.M. the King had given his High Instructions to the Ministers of the Interior and Economy and Finance to conduct an investigation into this subject, in accordance with the laws and procedures in force, the statement added. Initial investigations revealed certain technical flaws in the execution of the project, which was the subject of the beneficiaries' grievances. Likewise, the services of the General Inspectorate of Finance will carry out an audit of the management of the said project, particularly in its financial aspect. Furthermore, the Sovereign has ordered the Ministers of the Interior and Economy and Finance to ensure control and follow-up on the ground, in addition to auditing other projects carried out by the CDG in Al Hoceima, Nador, and other regions in the north of the Kingdom.
