Regrettable incidents in Al Hoceima

Regrettable incidents in Al Hoceima

AS Essaouira managed to overcome its handicap from the first leg to secure a place in the semi-finals by defeating Moghreb de Fès. ASE started the match very well by taking an eleven-point lead in the score from the first quarter (19-8). The pressure exerted by the Souiri five allowed it to keep MAS at a distance, preventing it from getting back into the game. ASE won the game with a score of 68 points to 52 and thus qualified for the semi-finals of the championship. In Al Hoceima, FUS still believed in its chances of qualifying for the next round, despite its slim two-point advantage acquired in the first leg. Everything was going according to plan until the second quarter, when CRA was leading with a score of 40 points to 33, the referee blew a foul, disqualifying the FUS player Harat. Not happy with this decision, one of his teammates savagely assaulted the referee, imitated immediately after by his other teammates. In the general confusion, the referees had to suspend the match. These incidents are unworthy of the great FUS, always known for the good behaviour and good conduct of its players and its technical and administrative staff. How did a club, always given as an example, come to assault the referees? The decision rests with the FRMBB, which will have to rule on this file. Unsportsmanlike behaviour that should cost the capital club very dearly. Let us recall that ASS qualified for the semi-finals by knocking out RSB and that the RST-WAC match was postponed pending the Federation's ruling on the reservations filed by RST regarding the qualification of the WAC player Khir Mourad. The dates of June 12 and 14, initially planned for the holding of the semi-finals and the final in Goulmim, now seem compromised. Results ASE–MAS 68–52
