The communicative and cognitive meeting, presided over by Brahim Hafidi, president of the regional council, sets itself the objective of mobilising for decision-making for the realisation of this ambitious project and revealing the Moroccan experience in the field of migration and development. This informative meeting saw the participation of institutional actors and the associative fabric who adhered to the dynamics of the "Migrations, Territories and Developments" project. The meeting was articulated around three preponderant axes. It is about the involvement of immigrants in territorial development policies and the strengthening of the skills of actors in terms of migrants' rights, the participation of the latter in the dynamics of economic development and the involvement of authorities and local communes in the governance and management of this promising project. On this occasion, the participants in the work of this meeting stressed the important role played by the Migrations and Development association in the mobilisation of migrants and in the enhancement of their role in local development, without forgetting to stress the extent of the role they play in the development of their country and that of the host country. Indeed, the association deploys significant efforts in the impregnation of migrants in public policies, through the involvement of institutions, such as the supervisory ministry, the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) and the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad. This project is also part of the sustainability of the efforts deployed in this direction by the Migrations and Development association. Its realisation should take place, it was stressed, within the framework of the Joint Migration and Development Initiative (JMDI), developed and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). This initiative, described as eloquent and ambitious, is financed by the European Union and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Also involved are Morocco, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Nepal, the Philippines, El Salvador, Senegal and Tunisia. Active actors in the development process To highlight the importance that human capital has in local development and the territory, the project sets itself the mission of improving the involvement of migrants in the dynamics of local development, so as to allow them to take on the role of effective actor in the development process of their country and that of the host country. To do this, the association aims to support migrants with investment projects and provide assistance for fair marketing in Europe through social and solidarity economy networks. It therefore proceeded to organise a training cycle for civil servants of territorial communes, on partnership and migrant investment, to develop a participatory diagnosis in terms of youth employment in the sectors of local products and tourism and to organise a training cycle from which young Moroccans from migration will benefit, which will focus on themes relating to the enhancement and marketing of local products. Duly trained, these young people will have the opportunity to participate in the establishment of a European platform, enhancing and promoting these products.
