270 participants in the Agadir Old Camel Tournament

A total of 270 participants are expected at the 9th edition of the Old Camel Agadir Beach Rugby Tournament, which will take place on the 15th and 16th of the current month at Agadir beach, organisers said on Wednesday.

This tournament brings together foreign participants from France and Germany and national participants representing the cities of Fez, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech and Safi, said Aziz Belghiti, tournament director, during a press briefing in Agadir.

This event, which includes four women's teams, including one from France, two from Agadir and one from Casablanca, will take place over four stages, he explained.

It consists, he specified, of a veteran stage of ten teams including six foreign and four Moroccan, a senior stage of eight teams including three foreign, and a women's stage of four teams.

The group match will take place on Saturday and the final phase and the prize-giving will take place the following day, he noted, adding that the two days will be marked by rugby initiation workshops for young people and children interested in this discipline.

This competition is initiated by the Souss Sports Association with the support of the Regional Tourism Council, the Souss-Massa-Drâa Regional Council and other public and private partners.
