Five Israeli tourists have lost their lives in a road accident that occurred in the Tazrine region, falling under the Zagora province in southeastern Morocco, after their off-road vehicle overturned in dramatic circumstances.
The accident occurred on the road connecting Tazrine to Alnif (Tinghir province), when the vehicle veered off its path due to excessive speed, before overturning violently, causing the immediate death of all its passengers.
As soon as the alert was given, the Royal Gendarmerie, local authorities, and civil protection services arrived at the scene of the tragedy. In a poignant scene, rescue teams extracted the bodies of the victims from the wreckage of the vehicle, before transferring them to the local morgue.
In accordance with legal procedures, the competent authorities have opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Ouarzazate, with a view to determining the exact circumstances and precise causes of the accident.
