Es-Semara – The National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), at the level of the Es-Semara province, attaches great importance to the subject of women's economic empowerment and contributing to improving their social and economic conditions.
The National Initiative for Human Development in this province has worked to pay special attention to women within economic integration or social and solidarity economy projects, particularly within the framework of the third programme of the INDH in its third phase, related to improving income and economic inclusion for youth.
The Initiative has contributed through a series of interventions to empowering women within cooperatives or associations with the skills and knowledge necessary to develop their entrepreneurial spirit, in order to create a new generation model of women's cooperatives capable of integrating into the national and international market.
The head of the Income Improvement and Economic and Social Inclusion for Youth department, El Houssin Al Mansouri, highlighted that women's projects falling under the INDH projects have received support from governance bodies at the level of the Es-Semara province, where purposeful projects have been funded that enable a group of women to access the labour market and highlight their economic capabilities.
Al Mansouri added, in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), that the Provincial Committee for Human Development has allocated, in this context, a financial appropriation for the benefit of young women and men of this province for the year 2024, amounting to about 3 million dirhams, as an individual contribution from the INDH, in order to promote the social and solidarity economy as well as entrepreneurship projects.
He noted that women's cooperatives in this province benefited from a financial appropriation of nearly 1 million and 500 thousand dirhams, i.e., about 50 per cent of the total appropriation for this support, pointing out in this regard that 30 per cent of the projects directed to the third programme were funded within the framework of income improvement.
In line with the directives of the 2024 framework memorandum, he pointed out that within the axis of supporting the social and solidarity economy, for the third programme of the INDH, a workshop for valuing Talh, Argan, and medicinal and aromatic plant products was funded and equipped for the benefit of the "Karb Al-Hawa" cooperative with a contribution from the INDH reaching 30,000 dirhams, and a workshop for textile manufacturing was equipped for the benefit of the "Bawader Al-Khair" cooperative with a contribution from the INDH estimated at 40,000 dirhams.
Thus, the National Initiative for Human Development, at the level of the Es-Semara province, has contributed to enhancing the economic empowerment of women in cooperatives and helping them improve their economic and social level.
