Mohamed Ouhnine, President of the Provincial Council of Beni Mellal, chaired, alongside Mohamed Benribag, Wali of the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region and Governor of the province of Beni Mellal, the ordinary session for the month of January 2025, on Monday 13 January 2025. The agenda for this session was devoted to the examination and discussion of the following points: presentation on water resources in the province of Beni Mellal, study and discussion of the draft partnership agreement for the granting of financial support to sports clubs in the province of Beni Mellal, study and discussion of the draft partnership agreement for the granting of financial support to social welfare establishments in the province of Beni Mellal, study and discussion of the draft partnership agreement between the Provincial Council of Beni Mellal and the Association of Social Works for employees of the administration of the Provincial Council of Beni Mellal.
The proceedings of this session began with an address by the President of the Provincial Council, followed by a speech by the Wali, who congratulated the members of the council on the occasion of the new year 2025 as well as the Amazigh year, while stressing that during his inspection visits to the province of Beni Mellal, he was able to gather several data allowing for the preparation of a new vision for the overall development of the province. However, he mentioned that some difficulties persist, notably the phenomenon of rural exodus towards the urban centres of the province and also reported that the agricultural sector of the region has experienced a significant decline due to water stress, leading to the loss of approximately 60,000 jobs.
“But thanks to the joint efforts of all and continuous teamwork, it is certain that these difficulties will be overcome, the challenges met and the objectives achieved, namely the strengthening of the attractiveness of investments in this province,” he assured. Finally, the members present unanimously approved the points on the agenda of this session.
