Beni Mellal.. Continuous efforts by the National Initiative for Human Development to encourage students to engage in sports activities

The Initiative, alongside its partners in the sports and educational fields, is implementing the contents of the "Sports Generation" programme to enable children in the Beni Mellal province to access quality education through sport, with the dual goal of maintaining the health of the younger generation and encouraging them to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle.

This programme, which is being implemented in partnership with "Tibu Africa", falls within the framework of activating the partnership agreement concluded between the National Initiative for Human Development, the Regional Academy of Education and Training, and the "Tibu Africa" association, aimed at enabling students in institutions located in urban and rural areas to benefit from a series of activities proposed within this programme.

The programme includes a variety of sports and physical activities adapted to the needs and abilities of the students, including, in particular, basic physical activities such as running and team sports, such as football, basketball, and volleyball, to promote cooperation and teamwork.

This initiative, included in the programme for the advancement of human capital for future generations within the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development, provides beneficiaries with other individual activities that encourage the improvement of personal discipline, focus, and effort management.

It also enables the provision of awareness sessions on health, including tips and guidance on nutrition, lifestyle, and the benefits of physical exercise.

In this regard, Amal Mossadi, from the Social Action Division at the Prefecture of Beni Mellal province, confirmed in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse agency that this initiative falls within the framework of the fourth programme related to the advancement of human capital for future generations within the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development, explaining that this project has been allocated a budget of approximately 700,000 dirhams for the year 2023, and one million dirhams for the year 2024.

This programme includes the commitment of partners to improve teaching conditions and promote the health and well-being of students, especially in the most vulnerable areas.

For his part, the Regional Director of "Tibu Africa" programmes in Beni Mellal-Khenifra, Youssef El Barhoumi, said that this initiative currently covers 200 schools across the Kingdom, noting that this programme includes about 15,000 students in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region, distributed across 28 schools in urban and rural areas.

Mr. El Barhoumi highlighted that the "Sports Generation" programme aims to provide sports instructors and health specialists to all targeted schools, noting that it aims to combat school dropout by encouraging the practice of physical activities and raising students' awareness of positive healthy behaviours.

This programme also aims to promote youth development through sports practice and create an environment more conducive to academic success, in accordance with the philosophy and spirit of the National Initiative for Human Development.

The National Initiative for Human Development continues its significant efforts to promote future generations in the Beni Mellal province by encouraging primary school students to engage in sports activities.
