Ouled Dlim Commune (Marrakech Prefecture) – The Student House (Dar Taliba) in the Ouled Dlim commune, under the jurisdiction of the Marrakech Prefecture, illustrates the constant commitment of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) to promoting the schooling of young girls and combating school dropout rates, particularly in rural areas.
Operational since 2010, this integrated social structure, which hosts 296 beneficiaries, including 96 boarding students, provides accommodation, catering, healthcare, and academic support, in addition to a range of cultural and educational activities aimed at strengthening the skills of young girls and fostering their personal development in various fields.
Designed to provide an environment conducive to learning, this modern establishment includes all the necessary facilities to ensure better care for the boarders, including dormitories, study rooms equipped with computer equipment and educational materials, an infirmary, administrative and sanitary facilities, a kitchen, a canteen, and spaces dedicated to cultural and sports activities.
This structure, whose positive impact on the educational path of the beneficiaries is well-established, works to ensure educational and social support for young girls, allowing them to continue their studies under optimal conditions and to achieve their academic and personal ambitions.
Indeed, the mission of this student house is not limited to improving the academic level of young girls and fighting against school dropout, but also plays an essential role in the empowerment and personal development of the beneficiaries, thus contributing to the overall development of the local community.
In this vein, the Secretary General of the Association in charge of managing Dar Taliba in Ouled Dlim, Abdelaziz Boulaâyat, affirmed that this socio-educational structure, set up within the framework of the INDH's "Boosting Human Capital for Rising Generations" program, has accumulated considerable achievements, particularly in terms of reducing the school dropout rate for girls after primary school.
The establishment guarantees optimal conditions for boarders, particularly in terms of accommodation, catering, and educational supervision, while offering them extracurricular activities capable of fostering their intellectual and artistic development, he noted.
For her part, Rajae Kouklou, an executive at the DAS of the Marrakech Prefecture, in charge of monitoring INDH projects, noted that since its launch, the Initiative has played a key role in supporting Dar Taliba and other similar structures, by ensuring their proper functioning through subsidies dedicated to management, development, and the acquisition of didactic, computer, and educational equipment, among others.
She further observed that within the framework of the third phase of the INDH, sustained efforts are being deployed to capitalize on the achievements of previous interventions, while ensuring the strengthening of initiatives aimed at combating school dropout, improving the quality of education, and integrating educational and cultural activities complementary to the school curriculum.
"Before joining Dar Taliba, I had a lot of difficulty getting to school every day because of the distance. Today, thanks to this establishment, I benefit from safe accommodation and a favorable educational framework allowing me to focus fully on my studies and achieve my goals," Hayat, a third-year middle school student, told MAP.
In the same spirit, Hiba, another student at the same grade level, expressed her deep gratitude to the INDH, explaining that this support provided by "Dar Taliba" allowed her to continue her studies in a conducive environment, to excel, and to develop her personal skills.
Like similar structures at the level of the Marrakech Prefecture, Dar Taliba of Ouled Dlim embodies a concrete example of the successful implementation of the INDH's objectives.
By offering rural young girls an environment conducive to continuing their studies, this essential structure fosters the emergence of a generation capable of actively participating in the development of its community, in perfect alignment with the objectives of sustainable development and the promotion of gender equality.
