Casablanca – The first edition of the “Souk Tadamouni” (Solidarity Souk) exhibition opened its doors on Friday in Casablanca, in the presence of representatives of local authorities, institutional partners, and economic actors from the Ain Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi prefecture.
Organised until March 26th by the Hay Mohammadi Youth Platform managed by the NGO Amideast, this fair aims to promote collective entrepreneurship as well as the social and solidarity economy, by offering cooperatives increased visibility and development opportunities.
The event highlights 18 cooperatives funded by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), offering them a platform to present their products and innovations. This meeting thus constitutes a real lever for economic empowerment for young people and women entrepreneurs.
In a statement to the press, the head of the social action division (DAS) at the Ain Sebaâ-Hay Mohammadi prefecture, Seddik Cheqroun, emphasised that this fair is part of the implementation of the INDH's “Income Improvement and Economic Inclusion of Youth” programme, specifying that the main objective is to provide technical and financial support to these cooperatives.
This support, he continued, translates into technical accompaniment and the acquisition of equipment intended to improve their production and strengthen their competitiveness in the market, recalling that the INDH has approved about 36 projects for the benefit of cooperatives, with a total budget exceeding 7.2 million dirhams, of which 6.2 million dirhams were funded by the INDH.
For his part, Said Adlani, communications officer at the Youth Platform, indicated that this solidarity market aims to accompany and support the beneficiaries of the INDH, noting that this event represents a dream come true for many project holders and cooperatives, whose ideas were able to see the light of day thanks to the support of the Initiative.
“This solidarity market allows cooperatives and INDH beneficiaries to exhibit their products and promote them to the public. It is also an opportunity for exchange and sharing of experiences,” he added, recalling that the Hay Mohammadi Youth Platform actively supports and accompanies projects and initiatives led by women and youth.
The fair highlights cooperatives specialising in local products, handicrafts, essential oil extraction, sewing, and recycling. The programme for this edition includes B2B meetings, conferences, and specialised workshops, in order to foster exchanges between project holders, investors, and the general public.
