Authorities in Casablanca accelerate efforts to rehouse slum dwellers before the World Cup – اليوم 24

The Casablanca Commune has allocated 40 million dirhams to rehabilitate reception sites intended for rehousing slum dwellers in the Sidi Moumen district.
According to available data, these sites are known as Salam 2, Salam 1, and Salam Extension subdivisions, which are reception areas designated for the rehousing of slum dwellers in this district.
This comes at a time when the authorities of the Casablanca-Settat region are accelerating efforts to eliminate slums in the economic capital, as part of the city's and its suburbs' rehabilitation in preparation for the World Cup, by exploring the possibility of granting residential apartments to slum dwellers who found themselves at risk of homelessness.
In Sidi Moumen, the total project cost is forty million dirhams, aimed at improving the infrastructure of the targeted sites by redeveloping pedestrian walkways and main streets.
