This evening, given before a large number of music lovers, was hosted in the first part by the "Qantara" group, composed of French, Belgian, Spanish, and Moroccan artists, which fuses Andalusian music and Flamenco. A fusion with the colours of both shores of the Mediterranean, to the great pleasure of the audience who vibrated to the rhythm of the songs performed.
In the second part of this evening, the artist Mohamed Laâroussi, accompanied by the Mohamed Larbi Lamrabet orchestra, followed with the unforgettable classics of the great master of El-Ala who passed away, Abdessadeq Cheqara (1931-1998).
In a statement to MAP, the artistic director of "Qantara", Kamal Mimouni, said he was very satisfied with this first participation in this Andalusian music festival before an audience won over in advance.
Antonio Seguro, the group's guitarist, also expressed his joy at participating in the festival, noting that the repertoire presented by the group during this evening is a mixture of diverse cultures, combining in particular the rhythms of Flamenco and Moroccan music.
For his part, the artist Mohamed Laâroussi, also president of the Moroccan Association for Andalusian and Spiritual Music, stressed the crucial importance of the Moroccan Festival of Andalusian Music in the meeting between artists from here and elsewhere and especially the preservation of this centuries-old art, a major component of Moroccan culture.
This festival is organised by the Moroccan Association for Andalusian Music (AMMA), under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, and in partnership with Casablanca Events and Animation, the territorial brand Wecasablanca, as well as the support of the National Lottery.
During three evenings that end this Saturday, artists and orchestras from different regions of the Kingdom and neighbouring countries celebrate Andalusian music in all its forms. This edition highlights the unifying power of Andalusian music, an art with multiple cultural influences and a timeless musical heritage that transcends borders and unites hearts.
