The tragedy that struck a family in Casablanca has sparked deep emotion and raised many questions. The family of a woman who died in a private clinic has chosen to take the matter to court, demanding an in-depth investigation into the circumstances of this heartbreaking drama.
The victim, Kenza, aged 32, lost her life last Tuesday during childbirth. Her loved ones, devastated by this tragic loss, sought the support of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights and Protection of Public Funds. The latter acted quickly, filing a formal complaint this Monday morning with the King's Prosecutor General in Casablanca.
Kenza's husband, distraught, explained that the decision to turn to the justice system was motivated by an urgent need to understand the events that led to the loss of his wife. "My wife was in perfect health when she entered this clinic. We demand answers and we will go all the way to elucidate this case," he confided to Hespress. He then described the sequence of events with pain.
Tuesday morning, the couple had arrived at a private clinic in Casablanca, recommended by their attending physician. According to the husband, nothing suggested such a drama. Kenza showed no alarming symptoms and seemed perfectly ready to welcome their child. However, things took a tragic turn.
"When my wife went into the delivery room, I expected to see her come out with our newborn. But I was informed that a small problem had occurred. Finally, only our baby came out, without his mother," he explained, his voice choked with emotion.
Faced with the lack of clear information and evasive answers from the medical staff, the husband spent an endless night in anguish. It was only at 3:30 a.m. the next day that he was informed of his wife's death.
The case does not stop there. The Moroccan Association for Human Rights, led by Abdelilah Tatouche, reported in its complaint that, on the same day, another similar death had been recorded under strangely identical circumstances.
In its request addressed to the Prosecutor General, the association demanded an in-depth and impartial investigation. It requested that all persons involved in the delivery be heard, including the obstetrician-gynecologist, the anesthesiologist, the resuscitation doctor, as well as the director of the clinic and the staff members present that day.
