"Created in 2010, this special zone in the heart of Casablanca, with its modern infrastructure and gleaming buildings, attracts start-ups, multinationals, banks, insurers, and investment funds. Today, the CFC hosts 225 companies operating in 115 countries, 50 of them in Africa", writes the newspaper under the headline "Casablanca, the Moroccan Wall Street, conquering Africa".
Recalling Casablanca's position as the continent's leading financial centre, ahead of Kigali and Johannesburg, according to the Global Financial Centres Index, Le Figaro notes that this economic hub, which last month hosted 1,200 industry leaders at the fifth Africa Finance Summit (Afis), also aspires to be a financial platform, with the declared ambition of its promoters to make it "the hub of African finance".
