Initiated by the Marocains Pluriels association, this event was an opportunity to highlight the Moroccan model in promoting the values of interreligious tolerance, peace, and harmonious coexistence.
This meeting took place in the presence of, among others, the Governor of the Casablanca-Anfa prefecture, Aziz Dades, the Consul General of the United States in Casablanca, Marissa Scott-Torres, the Father of the Notre-Dame de Lourdes church in Casablanca, André Keumaleu, representatives of the "Salam Lekoulam" association, in addition to other personalities and religious authorities.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Dades highlighted the uniqueness of the Moroccan model, which is based on solid principles of coexistence and living together among different faiths.
He stressed that this model draws its strength from the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, and makes Morocco an example to follow in consolidating the universal values of peace and fraternity.
"In Morocco, the harmony between Muslims, Jews, and Christians continues to grow. This coexistence is a beacon of hope, demonstrating that it is possible to live together in peace, even in a world often marked by conflict," noted Ms. Scott-Torres.
"Our beliefs teach us the values of love, empathy, and unity. It is thanks to these teachings that we find the strength to move forward and create a future where everyone can flourish," she added.
For her part, Guadalupe Josefina Zuniga Orozco, from the Franciscan Sisters' House in Anfa, indicated: "It is a beautiful occasion to celebrate Christmas alongside people of different faiths – Christians, Jews, and Muslims – in a spirit of fraternity".
"This shows that, despite our differences, we can live together in joy, friendship, and mutual respect. Harmony between religions is not only possible but also a source of hope," she affirmed.
In turn, the president of the Marocains Pluriels association, Ahmed Ghayet, maintained that "In a world shaken by hatred, the rejection of others, and wars, this kind of initiative represents a true oasis of peace. Under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, Morocco, this blessed land, preserves its fundamental values of living together and fraternity".
"Every year, we renew this experience with a new generation. By sharing their traditional log with young Christians, we seek to remain faithful to our ancestral values and to perpetuate our centuries-old traditions," he declared.
This ceremony was marked by testimonies from representatives of the three monotheistic religions, as well as by the singing of carols by the youth parish choir, accompanied by an Aissaoui music group.
