The plane from Vueling Airlines took off from Gran Canaria, according to La Provencia, a local newspaper that collected testimonies from eyewitnesses who were on board. The plane was en route to Malaga when a fire broke out following an oven explosion.
Alarmed, the crew members immediately triggered safety protocols, which forced the plane to make an emergency landing at Casablanca airport, which was the closest.
The fire was quickly brought under control without the passengers being put in danger, according to the same source.
The stopover in Casablanca lasted 5 hours before the flight resumed to Malaga. No damage was recorded.
